Wheel games were just that, games requiring some type of gaming wheel. Wheel-of-Fortune and Roulette were the two most
popular.
The smaller and more portable wheels were loaded up and moved from location to
location as towns started up and died out.
The larger and more expensive wheels were for the best gambling establishments
located in well established towns.
If you were looking for the most expensive and elaborate gambling equipment in those
early mining camps or at the end of rail line you would have been mightily disappointed.
To see such finery you would have to pack your bags and do a little traveling to towns
like St. Louis, New Orleans, Chicago, or San Francisco.
